The brilliant but idiosyncratic Professor Jasper Tempest is back. He’s sharper than ever but more troubled than before. This season the Professor is spending even more time with Greater Cambridge Police helping them to solve a series of complicated crimes with his unique insight and forensic analysis.
Across six episodes the Professor and the team untangle a series of knotty crimes ranging from an unexplained fire in a student block to the mystery of an entire family found dead in their home.
Also in Season Two personal relationships develop for the lead characters though some will also fall apart. From the blossoming affair between the two young detectives Lisa and Dan to the start of an exciting new liaison for Police chief DCI Christina Brand, nothing is quite what it seems.
Meanwhile once again Professor T is dominated and perplexed by the women in his life. As he attempts to improve his relationships with everyone from his mother to the love of his life Christina, he takes the monumental step of seeing a therapist. His sessions with Dr Helena are painful for the Professor and his mother as they delve deep into his past and chip away at the secrets of his childhood.
Joining Ben Miller as Professor T and Frances de la Tour as his mother Adelaide, is award winning leading actor Juliet Stevenson as therapist Dr Helena. Alongside returning cast members Emma Naomi (Lisa), Barney White (Dan), Andy Gathergood (DI Paul Rabbits), Ingrid Snares (Sarah Woodward) and Dean Wilfred Hamilton (Douglas Reith), there are also guest appearances from Miles Jupp, Alastair Mackenzie, Aidan McArdle, Clare Perkins, Rita Simons, and John Thomson amongst others.
